About
Welcome to my website! My name is Dinko Aleksandrov, a licensed psychologist in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. I earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in Chicago, where I received training in a variety of psychotherapies. Formally, I hold certifications in Problem-Solving Therapy for Depression as well as in Advanced Adlerian Psychotherapy. Additionally, I have been trained in the resolution of attachment patterns, relationship troubles, and emotional conflicts. Having committed my undergraduate education to the liberal arts, at Bard College, NY, I ensure to incorporate the arts, sciences, and humanities into my work. I do so because approaching psychotherapy from a holistic perspective is the best way to understand the complexities of human character and to help others achieve their own standards of the good life.
Most of my professional background has been built extensively on working with teenagers, young adults, and the science of human relationships. In today's world, people migrate more than ever before and settle down later in life than previous generations have. These new trends have opened the doors to redefining how we relate to one another as well as to increasing the number of interpersonal connections (in all their shapes and forms). I truly enjoy being a part of these new trends and helping folks navigate through their complexities. I often cannot tell whether I am working or simply having fun with my hobby, and in that, I feel blessed. This is why I wish to help those I work with spot the numerous ways that positivity and joy exist in their life, in making connections with others or with their inner self. Besides relational troubles, additional areas of specialty include time management, stress management, emotion regulation, and decision-making. I believe mastering all these components paves the road to making one's dreams come true, and I am committed to guiding others in achieving that for themselves.
Outside of doing psychotherapy, I have a fascination for writing and researching on the topics of attachment, depression, relationship skills, emotion regulation, self-defeat, and a unified theory of human psychology. In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, volleyball, or billiards; working out; reading novels; and taking long walks.
